Serai Collective didn’t start as a big business plan. It started as a simple yet eye-opening observation. 

Today’s ‘global fashion’ landscape is filled with designs that carry the appearance of culture, but not the craft or story behind it. In a world that’s busy repackaging tradition as trend, Serai chooses to do things differently.

Our focus is to restore clarity around what clothing represents– its maker, its method, and its origin. In honor of this mission, Serai partners with labels who collaborate directly with artisans, helping preserve generational techniques that are at risk of being lost.

This spirit of community and heritage is what Serai Collective is built on. The name Serai in fact comes from caravanserai– historic resting places along trade routes for merchants, makers, and travelers to exchange conversation and craft. 

Serai continues this tradition, bringing together designers, artisans and wearers to inspire connection and creativity.
